The pharmacy benefit management plays an important role in addressing some of U.S. healthcare’s most biggest challenges — improving access to new therapies while balancing costs with benefits and ensuring better outcomes and experiences for patients. Who are the individuals leading meaningful change and creating a positive impact within pharmacy benefit management?
This year, the Pharmacy Benefit Management Institute® (PBMI) will celebrate the PBMI Innovators award for the first time to recognize eight outstanding professionals in pharmacy benefit-related roles. These individuals, nominated by their peers, are executives and manager who have implemented innovative pharmacy benefit strategies, brought insight and intelligence to the field and delivered measurable results. The contest is open to any professional who works in pharmacy benefit management — at a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM); in the pharmacy benefits department at a health plan, payer, health system at a provider organization; or at company that sells services that improve the management of pharmacy benefits.
Winners of the PBMI Innovators award will be leaders with a track record of bringing value and innovation to drug benefits and delivery. They’ve accumulated the expertise and experience necessary to drive real progress but remain hungry for new challenges.
Winners will be featured in the August 2025 print issue of Managed Healthcare Executive (MHE) and in a video posted on the MHE website.
They will also receive

- an invitation to participate in a roundtable discussion at the conference
- an exclusive dinner honoring their achievements
