PBM 201, Plan Design for the Pharmacy Benefit, is designed for those who are familiar with basic features of pharmacy benefit management (e.g., types of prescription drugs and cost-sharing designs).  It also assumes familiarity with the definition of, and common uses for, specialty medications.  

This course covers 5 key learning objectives:
Describe the goals and rationale of cost sharing
 Define the type of cost sharing arrangements in managing the pharmacy benefit
 Explain the major components of pharmacy channels used to manage pharmacy drugs
 Identify the use of network pharmacies in managing drugs
 Summarize the use of formulary and formulary exclusions to manage the pharmacy benefit
