Richard’s experience spans 47 years in the healthcare industry as a pharmacist involved in the clinical, client service and business segments of pharmacy practice, as well as consulting activities with pharmaceutical manufacturers, and consulting agencies working with pharmaceutical manufacturers, healthcare payers and the financial investment community. This includes 22 years in management and executive roles in Pharmacy Benefit Management, where he concentrated on clinical, formulary, utilization and rebate management for Commercial, Managed Care, Medicare Part D and Managed Medicaid customers. Preceding his PBM tenure is 7 years in a large multi-site, multi-specialty medical group practice, where he directed multiple on-site pharmacy activities, managed the licensed wholesale pharmaceutical distribution operation and was an Interim Director of Pharmacy for the organization’s HMO. His earliest pharmacy experience includes owning an independent community pharmacy and relief pharmacist service as well as working in chain pharmacy, hospital and long-term care practice settings.

Richard earned his Pharmacy Degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He is an active member of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) where he has served on the Audit, Membership and Schools of Pharmacy Committees and as a Diplomat and Adjunct Associate Professor for Midwestern University College of Pharmacy, Glendale, AZ.
